Something, I think, has changed with paypal and I'm not sure if it's their error or not.

Notice in this screenshot what I'm seeing in the control panel:

And, now the corresponding screenshots taken directly from the paypal website when viewing the individual subscriptions in my history:

Now, it looks to me like paypal's math is wrong and that they're actually not charging until the end of the 6th day, instead of the end of the 5th day. For example, using the second subscription above:

CREATED: Sept. 4 at 07:35
END OF DAY 1: Sept 5 at 07:35
END OF DAY 2: Sept 6 at 07:35
END OF DAY 3: Sept 7 at 07:35
END OF DAY 4: Sept 8 at 07:35
END OF DAY 5: Sept 9 at 07:35
...this is where payment should be made since the user has now had 5 days of trial period...right?
END OF DAY 6: Sept 10 at 07:35
...this is the date that paypal is showing as the "Next Payment Date"

------------------

Anyway, this is causing havoc with my system. Is there a quick way to fix this in amember until paypal fixes it (or, in case they don't fix it?)

If we disable the Paypal_r, will this have any effect on our members who already signed up through Paypal_r? That is, when Paypal renews their memberships, does the original Paypal_r plugin need to be there, or will its functions be replaced by the Paypal Pro plugin?

Hello,

I am looking for a solution that we can offer a free first month on a (monthly) recurring product through using coupons. I know that free trial period works on products, but we want offer the free trial only to a special group of people (by using a coupon?)

100% Discount coupons didnt work right first, because 100% discount (also 100% in equivalent absolute amount) triggers a "free payment" processing and the system was not asking for payment information (paypal or manual banking information).
This problem was fixed by a little hack on signup.php and member.php by amember support. But a new problem occurs now: 100% discount is now calculated for all recurring periods - and paypal answers with an error message ;)

In general it would by fine if coupons support "trial period" options instead or in addition of defining amounts for discounts.

But for now I am looking any solution that I can offer special people a free trial period.

Any ideas?

best regards

So I know that aMember supports integration with Moneris - I've been using it on my website for the past month or so. But Moneris (under the eSelectPlus brand name) offers a "Hosted Payment page". Meaning: the user is taken to a page located on Moneris' website, where the actual transaction takes place.

In that instance, it is Moneris that stores the customer's credit-card information for recurring billing etc. It's a way for the seller (myself) to be free from the responsibility of having to be PCI DSS compliant, have SSL certificates etc. Way less to worry about.

My question is: how well does aMember integrate with the "hosted payment page" option? Has it been tried before? Ideally, is there some sort of guide? From what I can see, the configuration within Moneris' admin panel just needs URLs for if a transaction is approved, declined and some additional URLs for canceling etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

We have multiple subscription options for varying lengths of time. We offer discounts when a member chooses a 3 month or 6 month option rather than sticking with just the monthly option.

We used the same value for the Renewal Group for each of these memberships so one is supposed begin and the other end on the same day. When someone upgrades from the montly membership to a 6 month membership they get billed on the day they add the upgrade product.

The start date of the upgraded, longer-term product is being properly calculated to be the same as the expiration of the monthly subscription. However, even though they have upgraded and already paid for the 6 month subscription the current monthly subscription also gets rebilled and continues on instead of stopping the recurring billing like it's supposed to.

So essentially they pay $100 for the monthly and upgrade to $500 for the 6 month. On what is supposed to be the expiration of the monthly and the beginning of the 6 month they are billed for the monthly again when they have already are not supposed to be.

Furthermore, the expiration date of the monthly product is also advanced so they are literally subscribed to and paying for both the monthly and the 6 month product when it should be one OR the other.

How do I get aMember to stop the recurring billing of the monthly product on its expiration date after the 6 month product begins. Thanks.
